Toho Water Authority said a lab made mistakes with testing, which made it unable to confirm the quality of the drinking water, and that the letter is just a precaution.

The utility company said a lab it uses to test the water made multiple errors when testing the sample for disinfection byproducts.

The company said it took more samples, sent them to a different lab, and tests came back within normal guidelines.

The city has spent millions trying to correct the brown color coming out of pipes, and said the water has always been safe to consume.
