Cartledge, the founder of “Running 4 Heroes,” led the run/walk with both law enforcement running and driving behind him.

Bagpipe musicians played as runners finished the four laps around the track honoring Sergeant Elio Diaz.

Running 4 Heroes has become a signal of hope and remembrance, dedicating one mile to each fallen hero.

To date, Cartledge has honored over 1,500 first responders, demonstrating unwavering commitment to their legacies and families.

On Monday, Zechariah will run his final mile, honoring every first responder he has ever run for since 2019.

The last run will start at 6 pm on December 30th at Decision Tactical in Sanford.

Cartledge said after Monday’s run, he will continue with the non-profit program, but as a board member and younger runner will take his place to continue to honor the fallen.

Cartledge’s miles are more than just steps—they are acts of unity, love, and resilience, inspiring countless others to remember and support those who risk their lives to protect the communities.
