Why this matters: New restaurants create jobs and business opportunities for local contractors and suppliers. They also help landlords lease up shopping centers and provide an amenity for existing residents and workers in the area, helping make developing areas more desirable.
The new eateries include:
Gators Dockside at 11621 Narcoossee Road: This homegrown restaurant brand opened its 26th location on Dec. 30. The restaurant serves ‘gatorizers’ such as nachos, mozzarella sticks, onion petals and fried gator tail. Some other items at this sports bar are wings, ribs and burgers. The amount of employees hired at this location wasn’t revealed, but other restaurants staffed around 40-60 team members. The size of these restaurants also range between 5,000-6,000 square feet and have around 200 seats.
