Billi-Jo Clayton said, “We’ve heard a lot about people who don’t want certain things in their own backyard. We have a lot of property in Titusville, and it just does not seem appropriate with local schools and everything so nearby. And our neighborhood is mostly seniors, and we’re just very worried about how the access there’s a little road right here that goes into a small neighborhood.”

Carrfour Supportive Housing plans to build an 84-unit affordable housing community called Apollo Gardens on a multi-family property off Demaret Drive.

The City of Titusville approved a site development permit for the proposed development in November.

Some residents say in doing so the city failed to follow its own comprehensive plan.

They say Apollo Gardens should have its own entrance and exit that doesn’t place additional traffic on a residential road.

However, the CEO of Carrfour Supportive Housing believes the issue may be more than traffic.

Apollo Gardens is considered a Supportive and Affordable Housing community, meaning it will serve recently homeless families and other individuals who may require supportive services to maintain housing.

The city’s Board of Adjustments and appeals will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 6:00 pm.
