Reedy Creek’s new board of supervisors to meet for the first time Wednesday

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Reedy Creek Improvement District’s new board of supervisors is set to meet for the first time since being chosen by Gov. Ron DeSantis.

DeSantis signed a bill last week that gave the state control over Walt Disney World’s self-governing district.

As part of the move, the governor selected five people to oversee the district.

DeSantis has appointed the following people to run the state-controlled board:

• Martin Garcia, an attorney from Tampa, as chairman

• Sarasota County School Board member Bridget Ziegler

• Attorney Michael Sasso
