ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — The countdown is on for Central Florida’s largest fireworks display.

Red Hot & Boom returns to Altamonte Springs Sunday after being canceled for the last two years due to COVID-19.
City Manager Frank Martz said months of planning went into bringing the event back.

“We start planning the day after the last one,” he said. “And we figure out, ‘What went well? What could we tweak? What could we do better?’”
The event is expected to draw in a quarter of a million people as it celebrates its 25th anniversary.
