Publix pharmacies to begin offering free Moderna, Pfizer COVID vaccine booster shots

ORLANDO, Fla. — Publix pharmacies are now offering free Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine booster shots for all eligible adults.

The decision comes after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that everyone over the age of 18 who is already vaccinated can receive a booster.

Anyone who has received a two-dose mRNA vaccine can get a booster six-months after being fully vaccinated, according to the CDC.

For those who have received a one-doze Johnson & Jonson vaccine, the CDC recommends a booster dose two months after being fully vaccinated.

Publix is offering Moderna booster shots at all their locations. Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson doses are only available at select locations.

Patients can also visit vaccine.gov for information on where to find the preferred vaccine nearest to them.

Publix pharmacies also continue to offer first and second doses of all three vaccines for anyone eligible to receive one.

The COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters provided by Publix are free.

Patients with insurance need to bring their insurance card with them.

Medicare members should bring their red, white, and blue Medicare Part B card.

Everyone else simply needs to provide their driver’s license or Social Security number.

Anyone who’s interested can also receive a flu shot with their COVID-19 vaccination.
