Publix Super Markets opened more than 45,000 appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine Friday morning.
By 8:30 a.m., all appointments in Florida were booked.

In Central Florida, Publix stores in Marion, Flagler, Brevard and Volusia counties are offering the vaccine.
To receive a vaccine, people must be 65 or older, be a health care worker or live or work in a long-term care facility.

People will also have to prove they are a Florida resident.
“As we receive additional vaccines, we’ll continue to open the scheduler for additional appointments,” a spokesperson said.

According to the company’s website, the next time it will open vaccine appointments is Feb. 5 at 7 a.m.
