Investigators said Sherry fatally shot her husband, Timothy Fitzpatrick, at their Casselberry home in 2021. Fitzpatrick has claimed she did not intend to kill him, and that she was scared because Timothy had hit her and threatened to kill her.
“This is definitely disappointing,” said Timothy’s stepson, Keith Bourgeois. “She deserves more. I hope she sleeps horrible every night and sees what a horrible person she really is. She’s a savage... complete savage. You’re not even a monster. Monsters aren’t aren’t real, savages are.”
Sherry’s attorney, Amir Ladan, said the reason for the deal was because Sherry was a victim of domestic violence.
Sherry’s son said he is happy she will still get to enjoy the majority of her life when she gets out of prison.
“It is unfortunate that she has to serve any time behind bars at all, because she suffered almost a decade of torture and abuse by a terrible human being,” Her son Matthew Lee said.

Sherry will get credit for 800 days she served in the county jail, but once she serves out the remainder of her sentence, she will be on supervised probation for another 10 years. She will also be subject to mental health and substance abuse evaluations.
