SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Starting Tuesday, Seminole County will offer drive-thru or walk-up testing.
The first of seven COVID-19 pop-up community testing sites will begin tomorrow at the Apostolic Church of Jesus in Altamonte Springs.
The popup testing sites target areas such as East Altamonte with lower-income and a higher population of senior citizens, who may not have the transportation to make it to another testing site further away.

Church officials of East Altamonte say the testing is needed.
“(Residents in their) 70s, 80 years old and a lot of them don’t have families so it will probably be good for them to have somebody to reach out to them to let them know they can be tested, or they can just walk right here to the church,” said Deacon Jarrod Dessow with Apostolic Church of Jesus.
The popup sites are in partnership with True Health and the Department of Health. They will begin at 10 a.m. and run until 2 p.m.

Those interested in being tested must bring a government-issued identification. Patients do not have to be symptomatic. No appointment is necessary. The testing is free of charge, but patients with health insurance should bring their insurance card.
“If we identify there is a large number of people that need to be tested at a site, we are ready to come back to that facility, come back to that neighborhood later on if we need to do additional testing in the neighborhood,” said Alan Harris, Seminole County Director of Emergency Management.
