Several new polls are showing different possible outcomes in Florida for the presidential election in eight days.
A New York Times poll has Republican nominee Donald Trump winning the state by 4 percent with a 3 to 4 margin of error margin of error.
But a poll by the University of North Florida has Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton winning by 4 percent with a 3 to 4 margin of error.
William Pierre works security in Caribbean Supermarket in Pine Hills.
He said shoppers he talks to usually bring up the election.
“They are going to vote. It’s very important in this election,” he said.
On Thursday, the state’s Service Employees International Union, along with other community organizations, dished out a half-million dollars for ads to get Latino, Haitian and black voters to the polls.
With eight days to go, the candidates are coming back to Central Florida to campaign.
WFTV political analyst Rick Foglesong said even though both candidates want Florida, only one needs it for the road to 270.
“Hillary Clinton doesn’t absolutely need to win our state, but Donald Trump does,” said Foglesong.
Foglesong said Clinton has struggled to get the Obama-type hype during her campaign, and that’s why she’s also using the Obamas to help her campaign and stop Trump.
“She could block him from winning the Electoral College victory by winning the state of Florida,” he said.
Pierre expects minorities to show up to polls in record numbers.
“They all want to come together as one to vote, and I think it’s very important,” said Pierre.
Clinton is scheduled to campaign in Sanford Tuesday night.
