DeSantis: 20 major roadway, interstate projects in Florida will be completed in 4 years

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — Gov. DeSantis said 20 major roadway and interstate projects across Florida will be completed in the next four years.

DeSantis said $4 billion will be used this year to accelerate the projects with an extra $134 million every year after.

Some of the projects the governor listed included the reconstruction of U.S. 301 in Sumter County.

New lanes for Interstate 75 between State Road 44 in Sumter County to and State Road 326 in Marion County.

New lanes will also be added on Interstate 4 between ChampionsGate and Osceola Parkway.

The governor said a lot of these projects will be completed at least ten years ahead of schedule.

“You’re gonna end up seeing some of these projects completed 10, 12 years ahead of schedule,” DeSantis said.

The governor said other projects will include widening roadways, expanding interchanges, and making current highway connections more efficient.
