Police threaten jail time for people participating in TikTok challenge stealing President Trump campaign signs

LAKE MARY, Fla. — Lake Mary police are warning people about a viral TikTok challenge they say is dangerous and could land participants in jail.

Zach Hudson with the Lake Mary Police Department said the challenge is encouraging people to steal President Donald Trump campaign signs.

He said no matter whose name is on those signs, if you steal them you are breaking the law.

“You could spend six months in jail,” he said. “Just because TikTok is suggesting that you do this it’s not a good idea. It is a crime to take someone else’s property.”
