Missing St. Cloud woman’s body found in East Lake Toho

ST. CLOUD, Fla. — St. Cloud police said they’ve recovered the body of a missing 63-year-old woman from East Lake Toho.

Police said after 10 hours of searching by the air, water and ground, they found Elizabeth Mathis’ body in the water.

Police said Mathis’ family reported her missing Tuesday afternoon, and her car was located in the city marina parking lot.

Detectives are working with the local Medical Examiner’s Office to determine her cause of death, but officers said they do not suspect any foul play or criminal activity was involved.

The St. Cloud Marina boat ramp, which was closed during the investigation, has reopened.
