DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Six shootings reported Monday and Tuesday involved rival groups arguing about drugs and rap music, Daytona Beach police Chief Craig Capri said during a news conference Wednesday afternoon.
Police said a man died and a woman was injured in the string of shootings, which happened within 48 hours of one another.
Capri would not elaborate on the motive for the shootings because he said it could compromise the agency's investigation, but he said the rival groups are not gangs.

Police received a report at about 5 p.m. Monday that someone was shooting from a black Nissan between Mason Avenue and Third Street.

Investigators said Carn and another person were in a silver Toyota and were being chased by a dark colored BMW.
Police said the two inside the Toyota crashed into a white SUV near the New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Investigators said Carn was shot by one of the people in the BMW after trying to run away from the crash scene. They said he died at a hospital.
The other man who fled from the crash scene hid behind a building to avoid being shot, police said.
Kevin Stokes, 17, was identified as a person of interest in Carn's murder, Capri said. A $5,000 reward has been offered for information that leads to his capture.
Investigators said the people in the SUV did not know the people in the cars.
