HAINES CITY, Fla. — An officer-involved shooting investigation is underway in Haines City on Friday evening, police said.

11 p.m. Update:
According to police, the shooting happened early Friday evening along U.S. Hwy 27 near Davenport.
Haines City Police Chief Greg Goreck said the incident started as a stolen vehicle.
Officers attempted to make a traffic stop around 7 p.m., when the suspect ran from officers/
Police said the pursuit reached speeds of 100 miles per hour and the suspect hit at least two vehicles.
Eventually a Haines City police officer shot at the suspect after he pulled a gun.
A second suspect was taken into custody police added.

The Haines City Police Department is currently investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened on U.S. Hwy 27 near Interstate 4.
Police said the scene remains active, and we are working to gather all the details surrounding the incident.

Chief Greg Goreck wants to reassure the community that all officers involved are safe, and the suspects have been taken into custody.
According to a news release, police will release more information later this evening.
