DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Police in Daytona Beach said they are investigating after two men burglarized an antique store early Wednesday morning.
Officers responded to Nicole’s Beach Street Antique Mall at 140 North Beach Street around 3 a.m. Police said an anonymous person called 911 to report the burglary.
According to investigators, the two suspects smashed a rear glass door to get into the business. Additionally, a glass jewelry case in the store had been shattered.
The store's owner, Nicole Salomone, told police she had a feeling the business was going to be burglarized because of two suspicious men who came into the store the day before. According to the police report, Salomone said the two men appeared to be "casing" the store and paying attention to the glass jewelry case which held expensive items. Salomone told police one of the suspects even said "tomorrow" to her, leading her to believe there would be a burglary.
Police said Salomone removed the expensive jewelry from the glass case before the burglary occurred. It's unclear at this point if anything was actually taken during the break-in.
The suspects were caught on surveillance video and Salomone told investigators they were the same men who came into her store. One suspect is described as an older white male with a ponytail and the other is a tall black male.
Anyone with information regarding the crime is asked to contact the Daytona Beach Police Department.
