Poinciana High School lockdown lifted, officials say

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Osceola County Schools said Poinciana High School was placed under a lockdown Tuesday around noon and lifted around 1 p.m.

Officials said the school was initially on lockdown as a precaution.

The move was triggered after the administration was conducting a search of a student and that student fled campus, officials said.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Poinciana High School is locked down “due to a suspicious incident.”

Osceola County Schools confirmed all students and staff are safe.
