Pedestrian killed, driver sought in Orange County crash

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers are looking for a driver whom they say was involved in a crash that killed a pedestrian early Saturday morning in Orange County.

The crash happened around 4 a.m. at Hiawassee Road and State Road 408.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, a man was walking along Hiawassee Road when a 2017 silver Ford Fusion hit him.

The Fusion’s driver immediately left the crash scene, troopers said.

The pedestrian, identified only as an Ocoee man, 49, later died at a local hospital.

Troopers found the Ford Fusion, abandoned, a few miles from the crash site, but FHP did not disclose the location.

The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact FHP.
