Pedestrian killed crossing Orange County intersection on Saturday night, troopers say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was killed while attempting to cross near a busy intersection in Orange County.

The crash happened Saturday night at 7:45 p.m. near the intersection of Rio Grande Avenue and 24th Street.

Troopers said a w white Chevrolet Camaro was traveling north on Rio Grande Avenue when a pedestrian attempted to cross the street and walked directly into the path of the Camaro.

The 40-year-old was not in a crosswalk when the crash occurred, troopers said.

The pedestrian was transported to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Camaro was not injured and remained at the scene.

This crash remains under investigation.
