DELAND, Fla. — Police in DeLand are investigating a deadly accident Thursday.

The incident happened around 6 a.m. in the back of the Winn-Dixie supermarket near South Spring Garden Avenue and West Howry Avenue.
Police said a semi-truck driver turned into the loading area in the back of the Winn-Dixie and hit a man walking in the area.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified, died at the scene, investigators said.
Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
