Wild Florida partners with Osceola County schools for supply donations

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — The school year is about to start and one zoo will help make an impact in the community.

Wild Florida will partner with the Education Foundation of Osceola County for a good cause.

Starting on Aug. 1, residents in Osceola, Orange, Brevard, Polk and Seminole counties who donate new pencils, highlighters and other supplies will receive free lettuce to feed the giraffes at Wild Florida.

The promotion will run through Aug. 13.

Wild Florida said more than 70% of teachers in Osceola County report that their students don’t have all of the supplies they need to be successful.

The most requested items are loose-leaf paper, pencils, earbuds, highlighters and dry-erase markers.
