Troopers searching for hit-and-run driver who killed cyclist in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers are searching for a driver who hit and killed a cyclist early Monday morning in Osceola County.

Investigators said the driver drove into the bike lane on U.S. Highway 192, east of Simmons Road around 6 a.m., hitting and killing a cyclist.

Troopers said the driver fled the scene.

Based on pieces of a headlight found on the scene, troopers said they are looking for a light-colored Ford F-150 that could possibly be involved in the crash. The truck would have damage to the right headlight.

Troopers said the medical examiner is working to identify the cyclist.
