OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed early Saturday morning in Osceola County.
The crash happened on the entrance ramp to Poinciana Parkway from Marigold Avenue around 5:40 a.m.

Troopers said a Kia Optima was traveling northbound on the entrance ramp and hit a pedestrian who was standing in the roadway, not in a marked crosswalk.
Witnesses told troopers that after the initial impact, a second vehicle hit the pedestrian who was lying in the roadway. According to troopers, that vehicle left the scene.

The driver and passenger of the Optima were not injured during the crash and remained at the scene.
Witnesses could not provide a description of the vehicle that left the scene, telling troopers it was too dark at the time of the collision.
