OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Every weekend in October, Central Florida families can experience the ultimate socially distanced Halloween event.

Scream N' Stream has created a safe but effective way to still celebrate Halloween in the middle of a pandemic.

If you thought Halloween would be canceled this year, think again.

“We realized in the summer that Halloween was going to look different this year,” said Chris Lewis, a production manager at Scream N' Stream. “We wanted to do something that was safe but still spooky.”

They came up with a drive-thru haunted house, where you can stay in your car and drive through an experience while the frights happen right before your eyes.

Scream N' Stream has two options to choose from, the first is a family friendly trick-or-treat drive.

“Everyone can wear costumes and at each stop you meet a friendly character who gives you candy via socially distanced means,” Lewis said. “We have tubes, we have pipes, we’ve got big scoops and handles.”

Everyone is wearing gloves during the experience.

"At night, we have our scary haunted drive which we call “Night at the die in.”

The experience is set in 1997 and the story allows you to drive into an abandoned movie theater.

Once guests drive into the beat-up movie screen, they head back in time and into the horror movie, where they become the main character.

The haunted drive-thru and trick-or-treat experience is happening every weekend in October on Southport Road in Osceola County.

The experience costs $56 per car. A portion of the proceeds will be going to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.

Organizers invited up to 100 Disney cast members who were laid off to come to the event for free.
