The Osceola County School District has a plan in place to test students and staff for COVID-19.
The district said about 10% of the student population will be tested randomly with parent permission.
The school district board on Tuesday approved two methods to use: Pool testing and symptomatic testing.
Pool testing will happen at schools in the Kissimmee-area ZIP codes then expand from there. The district said they’re basing it on ZIP that have had the highest number of positive COVID-19 cases.
The board will also test people who are exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms within the school district and send the results to the health department.
