OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — The father-in-law of a woman who deputies said was killed and buried in the man’s front yard left jail after paying bail Monday evening.
Angel Rivera walked out of the Osceola County Jail shortly before 10 p.m., hidden underneath a jacket.
Two people escorted him to a car in which he was driven away. Rivera didn’t answer any questions from reporters as he walked to the car.

Deputies said they found Nicole Montalvo’s body buried on Rivera’s property in October. She was the estranged wife of Rivera’s son, Christopher Otero-Rivera. Neither he nor his father have been charged in her death.
Rivera, who had been in jail since October, was previously sitting on a $350,000 bond for not reporting a death and abuse of a dead body until a judge lowered his bond.
His attorney argued that the bond was unreasonable and that Rivera isn’t a threat to the community or a flight risk.

Rivera paid a $17,000 bail.
Otero-Rivera is still being held on charges of probation violation.
One of Montalvo’s friends was emotional when Channel 9 informed her of Rivera’s release, saying it was one of her greatest fears.
