OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — An Osceola County deputy who was fired after a deadly accident tried to get her job back Monday. It didn’t work.
Former Osceola County deputy Gloria Boccio went in front of an appeals board made up of Sheriff's Office employees and asked for her job back – not as a deputy, but as a dispatcher or another position within the department.
Investigators said Boccio caused a chain reaction accident that killed 34-year-old Robert Johnson in October 2018.

Records show she was in another crash weeks later along State Road 417.
She was fired after an internal investigation found her performance subpar.
On Monday, although the board found that nothing Boccio did was malicious or criminal, her license was suspended. In order to keep her job as a deputy, she must have one, so they said they had to uphold the recommendation to terminate her.
Boccio is schedule to get her license back next month. She had 5 accidents in all costing the agency $400,000 so far.
