Deputies said as firefighters worked to put on the flames, a round of gunshots rang out.
Investigators one man was found dead inside the home that was destroyed by the fire, and a neighbor was taken to the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.
Officials said the home was determined to be unsafe for Sheriff’s Office investigators to continue their work in for now, so the Fire Marshal’s Office took over and the two agencies will coordinate as they investigate the fire and the shooting at the same time.
