OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — The father accused of killing his wife, children and family dog said it was his wife who killed them before killing herself.
According to a letter written to his father from Osceola County Jail, Anthony Todt said his wife Megan Todt gave their three children a pie that looked good but smelled horrible and was made with Benadryl and Tylenol PM.

He wrote his wife then “woke up at 11:30, stabbed and the suffocated each one.'
“At the news of this I ran to the bathroom and puked – I was weak,” he wrote. “She continued to tell me what happened and then wanted to pray/meditate together.”
Anthony Todt said his wife confessed to the children’s murders before eventually turning the knife on herself.

Todt was arrested in January and is charged with first-degree murder and is accused of killing his wife, Megan, and three children Tyler, Alek and Zoe Todt.
Investigators said he confessed to the crime, and prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.
The medical examiner’s report ruled the cause of death for the mother and her three children as “homicidal violence of unspecified means in association with diphenhydramine toxicity,” which means Benadryl contributed to their deaths.
Todt said in his letter he went to check on his children and was “horrified” by what he saw.

“It was peaceful, no signs of struggle as she said, but I didn’t believe her that there wasn’t a struggle,” Todt wrote. “I got a warm washcloth and wiped each of their faces, held them, cried and wanted to make them look more comfortable by cleaning their mouths, eyes and … their nasal passages.”
In his letter, Todt also paints a picture of himself as a hard-working devoted father and husband who was caring for his sick wife.
