KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Osceola County leaders broke ground on a new fire station this week.

The new station is on Sadina Street in Kissimmee, not far from Calypso Cay Way.

Station 45 will be the county’s 17th fire station and the second of three stations planned to begin construction this year.

The new four-bay station is more than 12,000 square feet and will include a room for hosting small group meetings.

“It’s gonna be hurricane resistant to one hundred and 50 miles per hour,” said Osceola County Fire Chief Larry Collier. “It’s gonna have a larger community room for use by the community for various events such as the homeowners association and for polling.”

Construction should be complete by summer 2023.
