An Osceola County father is now pointing the finger at his own son in the murder of Nicole Montalvo.

Nicole's husband Christopher Otero-Rivera and his father Angel Rivera are both charged in her murder.

New evidence released in Nicole Montalvo case

Newly released court documents show Angel Rivera did an interview with prosecutors and claimed he saw his son with her body.

Some large chunks of the interview are redacted, but he claims he saw Christopher with her body in a workshop on the family property and Christopher told him he cut Nicole up with a “big blade.”

Prosecutors believe Angel Rivera and his son Christopher Otero-Rivera murdered Christopher's estranged wife Nicole Montalvo.

The Osceola County mother disappeared after she dropped her son off at the Rivera home Monday, October 21.

Her body was later found chopped up and buried on the property.

With both men in custody, Rivera came forward with his attorney– to point the blame squarely on his son.

He said he saw Christopher with the body Tuesday, that Nicole left the property Monday and came back to be with Christopher without him knowing.

But prosecutor Ryan Williams told Rivera they have video of his truck Monday night near the location of where Nicole’s car had been dumped.

They told him his story about seeing Christopher with the body on Tuesday doesn't add up.

Rivera came forward hoping to get a plea deal to testify against his son, but based on the way that interview went, it doesn’t seem as though that’s going to happen.
