Lockdown lifted at Kissimmee school after reports of possible gun on campus, police say

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A lockdown has been lifted from a Kissimmee school following reports of a possible gun on campus, according to police.

Here’s what we know so far:

  • The report was made at Denn John Middle School of a possible handgun being on campus.
  • The school was placed on lockdown following the reports.
  • Police asked parents not to report to the campus as the incident is being investigated.
  • Officials did not end up locating a weapon.

The Osceola County School District sent out an email to parents Wednesday evening after a threat had been made over social media toward Denn John Middle School’s campus. It is unclear if the incidents are related.
