KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A lockdown has been lifted from a Kissimmee school following reports of a possible gun on campus, according to police.
We are investigating an allegation of a possible handgun at Denn John Middle. The school is on lockdown at this time and parents are being asked not to respond to the campus until officers can thoroughly investigate the incident. Students will not be released at this time.

Here’s what we know so far:
- The report was made at Denn John Middle School of a possible handgun being on campus.
- The school was placed on lockdown following the reports.
- Police asked parents not to report to the campus as the incident is being investigated.
- Officials did not end up locating a weapon.
The Osceola County School District sent out an email to parents Wednesday evening after a threat had been made over social media toward Denn John Middle School’s campus. It is unclear if the incidents are related.
