KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A Kissimmee police officer has been fired after making controversial posts on social media related to racial and social issues.
A citizen sent in a complaint about posts Officer Andrew Johnson made on his personal social media accounts and the police chief determined he deserved to get fired.
The citizen felt Johnson’s views could impact his ability to do his job.
The police chief was concerned enough about the posts to fire him.
A Kissimmee police officer hired just last year, is already out of a job after his own posts and comments on social and racial issues made him the target of an internal investigation.

The posts touched on issues like the U.S. Capitol riot and the protests and riots that followed the death of George Floyd and the police shooting in Wisconsin of Jacob Blake.
After the complaint came in, police put him on paid leave that day.
Two days later, the department determined he violated the social media policy and the chief fired him.
