Give Kids The World Village reopens after COVID-19 closure last year

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — Give Kids The World Village is welcoming families back to its special location near Walt Disney World for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began.

The organization in Kissimmee gives critically ill children and their families a weeklong vacation for free as a way to forget about their troubles.

New safety protocols are now in place for families, including hand sanitizing stations, mask requirements and social distancing.

The reopening is also going to be in phases.

The organization will start with five families this week and keep building to around 30 families near the beginning of March.
