OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — An Osceola County man accused in the murder of his estranged wife pleaded not guilty along with his father during a Tuesday arraignment.
Christopher Otero-Rivera is currently facing second-degree murder charges after the remains of his estranged wife, Nicole Montalvo, were discovered in October on property belonging to her estranged husband’s family.
Otero-Rivera’s father, Angel Rivera, was indicted for charges of accessory after the fact and tampering with evidence. He also pleaded not guilty Tuesday.
Gov. Ron DeSantis has reassigned the case to State Attorney Brad King following a dispute between the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office.
A tentative trial date has been set for March 30, but it is expected to be pushed back.
