Airport, Brightline lead most popular 2024 transportation stories

Brightline increases service to 32 high-speed trains between Orlando and South Florida

Orlando transportation projects had a big year in 2024.

The Florida Department of Transportation announced it would do $2.4 billion of work to address traffic on Interstate 4 over the coming years, for example. Local political leaders are approaching a key planning study for a shared rail corridor between Brightline and SunRail.

Beyond that, Orlando International Airport has multiple projects underway, including gate space for up to eight aircraft at Terminal C.
