OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — So-called “COVID parties” are continuing in Osceola County, and the county is still working to figure out how to stop them not only to slow the spread of the virus, but to crack down on drugs and violence.
New video released Wednesday by the Osceola County Sheriff Office shows deputies pulling people over who said they were headed to and from one of the parties.
Deputies said over the weekend one man was shot and others were arrested for possession of drugs and weapons outside the parties.

Deputies said the parties are straining manpower at the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office and the county is looking at other violations that could help shut these parties down. But for now, they continue to be advertised and attended.
Deputies have asked for a roundtable about the issue of these parties to come up with ideas on how to stop them.
