Ormond Beach police locate 2 missing children

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — UPDATE: The Ormond Beach Police Department said the children were found and are safe.

Ormond Beach police are seaching for two missing children who were last seen with their mother.

Police said they are looking for River Shelton, 1, and Serenity Shelton, 4, who were last seen at the Econo Lodge in Ormond Beach.

The Florida Department of Children and Families said an order to take the children into state custody was issued due to the parents’ attempts to avoid meeting with the agency.

River stands 2 feet tall and weighs about 20 to 25 pounds. She has blond hair and blue eyes.

Serenity stands 3 feet tall and weighs about 30 to 35 pounds. She also has blond hair and blue eyes.

The children’s parents are Chasity Shelton and Eric Ely.
