Orlando Police reported activity on Shining Willow Terrace

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Police Department said they are currently responding to a scene at Shining Willow Terrace.

12: 10 a.m. Update:

The Orlando Police Department responded to a domestic disturbance between a man and woman at the 2800 block of Shining Willow Terrace. 

Police said they made contact with a 26-year-old black man outside of the house. 

Officers said they saw the man with a gun in his pocket and gave a verbal order to the man not to touch the weapon. 

OPD said that the man disobeyed the order, jumped the fence near him, and ran. 

Officers said the man cut off and told him to get on the ground and not reach for the gun. 

OPD said the man refused, and officers tased the man; he fell to the ground, pulled the tase prongs out, and reached for the gun. 

The police department said, as a result, officers shot the man. 

Officers said they attempted life-saving measures on the man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The man was a convicted felon and was arrested multiple times. 

The man was arrested for battery, domestic violence, resisting an office with violence, battery on a law enforcement officer, and armed robbery.

According to a Channel 9 reporter, crime scene investigators are at the scene.
