Orlando police continue search for gunman who killed boy, 17, during taping of music video

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police are asking for help tracking down someone who killed a 17-year-old.

Officers said Johnathan Robinson died after he was shot on Sunset Drive near West Church Street.

Detectives said people were filming a music video with guns right before the shooting.

Orlando Police Chief Orlando Rolon is also saying the violence we’re seeing with guns being brought into situations like these has to stop.

Hazel Weston said she ran outside and saw at least 30 people together. “I hear three gunshot rounds,” she said.

Police said they believe the group was shooting a music video when something went wrong.

Robinson was shot and later died at a hospital.

Rolon said investigators need to get their hands on the music video to find out who did this.

Rolon said guns being at the fight is another huge problem in itself and it needs to be addressed.

“We need to make sure we have a conversation with our youth,” he said. “We need to make sure that we inform our youth that being involved in activities where firearms are involved is not going to lead to anything positive.”

There’s a $5,000 reward for anyone who comes forward with information leading to an arrest.
