ORLANDO, Fla. — A quick-thinking firefighter is being credited with helping to save a woman from a fiery crash late Monday night.
The crash happened near Northlake Parkway and Narcoossee Road just before 11 p.m.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a car that had crashed into a tree and caught fire with the driver trapped inside.
Fire crews immediately began trying to put out the fire while Orlando Fire Department’s Lt. Bassel Ibrahim began checking on the woman.
As firefighters began working to free the woman from inside the car, Ibrahim saw she was becoming overcome by the heavy smoke filling the car.
Lt. Ibrahim then removed his mask and placed it over the woman’s face to help her breathe.
Firefighters were able to pull the woman out of the rear window and drag her to safety.

The woman was then flown by helicopter to Orlando Health, where she is being treated for her injuries.
