ORLANDO, Fla. — City of Orlando employee, Ed Peterson, returned as “Jeopardy!” Champion Thursday night.

Peterson was $2,400 behind first place going into Final Jeopardy and although he got the answer right, his reign came to an end.
Peterson’s final total was $14,801 and the winner ended up with $24,801.
Great job Ed, Orlando is proud of you.

If your answer was Ed Petersen, you’d be correct.
Petersen, a planning technician who has worked for and lived in the City of Orlando for 22 years, will be one of three contestants competing tonight on the iconic game show.

His game show debut coincides with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer’s State of the City address. Dyer congratulated Petersen and wished him well ahead of his appearance during his address.
“He has dreamed for decades about getting a chance to appear as a contestant on the show. Recently, that dream came true,” Dyer said during the address. “Ed is one member of an incredible team at the City of Orlando... a team of dedicated professionals who go above and beyond for our residents every single day. As mayor, it’s an honor and a privilege to work alongside them.”
“Jeopardy!” airs weekdays at 7 p.m. on Channel 9.
