ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando City has made another move and signed 27-year-old Wilder Cartagena on loan from Al-Ittihad Kalba SC of the United Arab Emirates’ UAE Pro League.
Rumors started last week, that the signing was coming soon. Cartagena began posting farewell messages and thanking supporters on his social media platforms on Monday and today, Orlando City made it official.
Cartagena is a native of Lima, Peru, and started his professional career with Alianza Lima.
He has made multiple appearances for the Peruvian national team, earning his first cap in 2017.

Cartagena joins fellow Peruvian teammate Pedro Gallese.
The loan lasts through the 2022 season, with an option to extend another year pending meeting visa requirements.
This is the third signing in the last month.
The team picked up, Ivan Angulo, a Colombian winger, on July 25, and U.S. men’s national team forward Niko Gioacchini on July 25.
