ORLANDO, Fla. — The Jacksonville Transportation Authority (JTA) announced Tuesday it had selected Orlando-based Beep as part of its Ultimate Urban Circulator project.
As part of the project, Beep will implement, operate and maintain the autonomous vehicle fleet on the Bay Street Innovation Corridor in Downtown Jacksonville.

Beep CEO Joe Moye said the project builds upon its successful partnership with the City of Jacksonville.
“We are honored that the Jacksonville Transportation Authority has placed its trust in Beep and the V2R Team to deliver the nation’s largest-ever autonomous shuttle project to enhance mobility-for-all in the downtown area,” Moye said.
The 3-mile Bay Street Innovation Corridor will run along East Bay Street in Downtown Jacksonville, from Hogan Street to the city’s Sports and Entertainment District.

The project is funded in part by a BUILD grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Florida Department of Transportation and North Florida Transportation Planning Organization.
Beep operates autonomous shuttles in Florida, Georgia, Arizona and Yellowstone National Park.
