Orange-Osceola state attorney believes she may be suspended by Gov. DeSantis

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orange-Osceola state attorney thinks she may be out of a job Monday.

State Attorney Monique Worrell said she thinks Gov. Ron DeSantis may suspend her.

Worrell said a Republican committee woman requested information on at least two human trafficking cases.

The state attorney’s office said it believes that information was wanted in preparation for a news conference with the governor, where they believe he plans to suspend her.

The governor has called Worrell “soft on crime.”

DeSantis is set to hold a news conference around 12:30 p.m. in Titusville.

Channel 9 will be at the governor’s event and will provide updates on Eyewitness News.
