ORLANDO, Fla. — White Castle lovers, you’ll have to wait a little longer to order favorites such as cheese sliders, fries, and mozzarella sticks for delivery. The chain is pressing pause on its virtual kitchen until the spring.
“We are going to pause operations at our virtual kitchen in Orlando until after our full service restaurant location in the O-Town West development opens,” a spokesperson said. “The overwhelming number of orders for White Castle has been humbling and reinforces we made the right choice to choose Central Florida as the site for our next permanent destination Castle.”

A spokesperson said the small kitchen and high number of orders wasn’t sustainable.
Many in the Orlando area have been waiting to get their hands on the tiny square burgers since White Castle broke ground on the O-Town West location last November.

The 4,567-square-foot restaurant will still have the iconic “tower” but with a more modern industrial-style design, the company said.

The Orlando “castle” will mark the 100-year-old hamburger chain’s return to Florida since departing in the 1960s.
The company said it will resume delivery service when the largest White Castle in the world opens near Disney this spring.
