ORLANDO, Fla. — An apartment complex on Orlando’s westside that been hit with a recent rash of shootings and that residents call deplorable conditions is getting a multi-million dollar renovation.
Windsor Cove, on the city’s west side, will go through a $19 million renovation project this summer, complex owner Millenia Housing Management told Eyewitness News.

This month, there have been five shootings in Windsor Cove, including a 12-year-old who was shot May 16. So far, none has been fatal.
Starting Monday, the district’s commissioner along with the Orlando Police Department will implement a youth engagement strategy on the west side.
Six officers will be placed within the three low-income communities, and two additional resource officers will be dedicated to Windsor Cove.
