Troopers investigate deadly crash involving disabled vehicle in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash after a disabled vehicle was hit on the side of the highway.

The crash happened Friday night around 11 p.m. on southbound State Road 429 near Seidel Road.

Troopers said a Nissan Altima was stopped in the outside lane of S.R. 429 south of Seidel Road. The Altima was parked in the outside lane after being involved in a collision around 10 minutes earlier.

A Chevy Blazer was traveling southbound on S.R. 429 and struck the Altima from the rear.

The driver of the Altima, a 26-year-old Orlando woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Blazer, a 35-year-old Austin, Texas man, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

This crash remains under investigation.
